Frequently asked questions

What is a HEIC file?

HEIC is the photo format iPhones and iPads use by default. It makes small files, but many websites, forms and Windows programs cannot open it.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The converting happens in your browser, so your photos are not sent to our servers.

Why does the first photo take longer?

Most browsers cannot read HEIC on their own, so the page loads a HEIC reader the first time you add a photo. It is about 0.8 MB to download.

Will the JPG look the same?

It will look very close. JPG uses lossy compression, so choose High quality to keep as much detail as possible.

Does it keep the photo's date and location?

No. The JPG contains only the picture. Information such as the date and GPS location is not copied.

What about Live Photos?

Only the still picture is converted, not the short video.
